Weddings
The Harp is a unique and versatile instrument, that will provide an ambience for you and your guests to set the mood for the special day. Along with the beautiful sound of the harp, you will have the inclusive attention of the harper, who will set the intention for love, friendship and compassion for all who attend.
Aside from the traditional indoor venues, Houses of Worship, Hotels, and other event venues, I’ve had many wonderful experiences playing for outdoor weddings and events. The Devonian Gardens, Banff, Alberta over-looking Mount Rundle. In Jasper, Alberta on Pyramid Lake-Island, Golf course wedding receptions in Calgary, Alberta. It is always a beautiful experience to play for an intimate wedding in a family’s backyard, as well.
A music consultation is required prior to the wedding, to establish the musical elements of the ceremony. Harp music can be incorporated into the whole or part of the ceremony. Traditionally this would include:
15-20 minutes of Prelude music as guest enter and are seated.
Special music can be played for the parent/grandparent entry and the groom and best men.
The Processional music can include separate music for the bridal party, followed by the Bride’s chosen song.
Harp music can be included in candle lighting or signing of the register.
The Recessional music follows the Bridal Party as they depart.
Additional 15 minute Postlude music can be played as guest file out.
I can help guide you through musical selections for your ceremony. Many couples have only one song that is significant to them while others have their choices in mind for the entire wedding. I’m happy to share my repertoire or learn anything outside of my repertoire, given a few weeks.
A contract is required, and Ceremony Music Worksheet completed, prior to the event. For details, please contact me directly.
